Moss Hall Alpine Strawberry Seeds - a Blend of 6 different kinds
No cottage garden is complete without wild strawberries growing here and there (in my most humble cottage-y opinion).
This is our own unique blend of Alpine strawberry seeds sourced from Germany, Sweden and France.
You will find the following kinds- Mignonette, Baron Von Solemacher, Regina, Rugia, Yellow Wonder and Vesca. These are sold as a mixture only. They are perfect for Winter Sowing!
Using moist, high quality seeding compost, scatter lightly over the surface of a 4" pot. Just barely cover with a light sprinkling of vermiculite as the seeds need light to germinate. Seeds need a period of 4 to 6 weeks of freezing weather to germinate. Keep under cover during winter where it can receive winter sunshine. Do not allow to become overly moist. Will sprout in Spring. For more info, check our instagram page for our "Winter Sowing" guide.
Here in zone 8, we prefer to winter sow these for an easy fool proof way to germinate and grow these lovely treats.
