Amazing Grey Poppy

$4.50

One of our very favorites... I'm just in love with these poppies! The petals have the look of crushed silk dip dyed in Earl Grey lavender, sophisticated and light as a feather blowing in the breeze. The Shirley poppy is an iconic annual type poppy; amazing grey is highly sought after. Its elegant look is arresting both in the landscape and arrangements. A cult favorite of high-end florists who reserve Amazing Grey for the finest design work. Note - it does not transplant well.

NOTE: there was a large crop failure in 2023 which resulted in very few of these available, hence the small amount of seeds in each packet. As such, it would be best to winter sow these in in a container and surround them in crushed oyster shell when planting out so the slugs and snails don’t chomp them down.

Average Planting Success: 80%
Height: 2 - 2½ feet
Germination: 10 - 30 days
Optimum Soil Temp. for Germination: 60°F - 70°F
Sowing Depth: Surface Sow. Best sown in winter and protected from the sluggies.
Blooming Period: March - July
